Bordeaux have admitted their interest in signing Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud.
The France international is out of contract at the end of the season, and with over half of his 41 appearances this term coming off the bench, Giroud seems likely to move on in search of a regular game.
The 32-year-old is set to attract offers from across Europe, with Bordeaux among them.
The Ligue 1 club’s chief scout Hugo Varela told L’Equipe: “People who know him have told us a lot of good things about him as a player, of course, but also as a person.
“He has the attributes we are looking for, but he is not the only one.
“No matter who comes, we know that negotiations will be difficult.”
