Bristol City are likely to include Matt Smith against Rochdale in what will be the final match of his loan spell.
The striker has been a huge hit at Ashton Gate, scoring 13 times in 16 starts, but FIFA rules mean he cannot extend his stay with the Robins and will return to parent club Fulham after the final whistle on Saturday.
He may, however, start the match on the bench with Kieran Agard and Aaron Wilbraham likely to be given the nod again after Tuesday’s 3-1 win at Doncaster.
If Robins boss Steve Cotterill does decide to freshen up his side then Jay Emmanuel-Thomas and Wade Elliott look likely to step into the line-up.
Rochdale’s new signing Jamie Jones could make his debut for the club after the goalkeeper joined on loan this week from Preston.
Dale boss Keith Hill will monitor injured pair Ollie Lancashire and Stephen Dawson, who both missed the midweek defeat to Sheffield United due to unspecified knocks and remain doubtful.
Hill handed Febian Brandy his debut on Tuesday night, but the former Walsall and Sheffield United winger made way early in the second half for Nyal Bell, who made his second appearance for the club.
Defender Rhys Bennett stepped off the bench following a knee injury against the Blades and is hoping to make a bigger contribution as Dale chase their second win in six league matches.
