Bumper gossip: Sturridge, Carvalho, Reus, Lloris

When the only Premier League clubs to show an interest are apparently West Ham and Stoke, the claim that PSG are interested in Daniel Sturridge should be music to his ears. There have been whispers about this before, but now the Sunday Mirror claim that the French club are very interested in the oft-injured Liverpool striker.

The Reds are said to be ready to listen to offers for Sturridge, who they value at around £30m, but PSG want to initially take him on loan as they fear a big outlay on an injury risk. They should probably be more worried about his form; he has been rotten when called upon this season.

But how much will they pay? The Sun are exclusively claiming that City will pay £60m for Sporting Lisbon’s William Carvalho but that does seem a tad ridiculous for a player who has been touted for a Premier League move to clubs as glamorous as Everton, Southampton, Stoke and West Brom. The Sunday Mirror’s claim that they will meet his £34m buy-out clause seems far more sensible. We know City are rich but just offering an extra £30m for sh*ts and giggles seems a tad odd.

The Sun claim that City are prepared to pay a total of £115m for Carvalho, Ryan Bertrand and Ben Gibson but we are inclined to think that if they pay a total of £115m for Carvalho, Ryan Bertrand and Ben Gibson then they have been f***ed three ways.

On Friday it was all about Marco Reus joining Arsenal as a replacement for Alexis Sanchez but now it’s Sunday and the Sunday Mirror claim that ‘Chelsea have joined Arsenal and Liverpool in the race to land Reus’ and that Borussia Dortmund will demand £70m for the German. Which is a lot.

Elsewhere, the Daily Star on Sunday claim that Chelsea will pay £60m for Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly as a long-term replacement. Which is odd as we think Chelsea are doing fine without either John Terry or a long-term replacement this season.
