Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher thinks one fixture in particular will have a huge say in the Premier League title race.

The Reds are just one point adrift of leaders Manchester City ahead of their huge clash with Tottenham on Sunday afternoon.

And Carragher predicts City’s clash with Manchester United in April to have a huge say on the destination of the title, especially if Jurgen Klopp’s men can successfully negotiate upcoming matches against Spurs and Chelsea.

“I think it will go down to the wire,” Carragher told Sky Sports.

“Liverpool have the tougher fixtures over the next two or three weeks. If they come out the other side of that in the same position, they can force City to have to win at Old Trafford.

“I think that’s what a lot of Liverpool fans are looking at – that game at Old Trafford.

“I know Manchester United fans are desperate for Liverpool not to win the league but City have a great chance of winning the Quadruple which would topple United’s Treble from ’99.

“It’s a big dilemma for United fans. Would you rather Liverpool win the league or City win the Quadruple? Hopefully a lot of them may change their opinions and try to get a decent result against City.”
