After another action-packed Championship weekend, we’ve picked out the best 11 players and complied them into our team of the week.

GK: Joe Lumley (Middlesbrough)
The Middlesbrough goalkeeper was called into action several times against Derby and his efforts in goal managed to secure a point for Boro.

He was quick out of his goal when he needed to be, in order to close down the space of the attacker and overall, he had a solid showing.

DEF: Marc Roberts (Birmingham)
Marc Roberts opened the scoring against Luton after just seven minutes and his early goal very much set the tone for the rest of the afternoon as Birmingham went on to score five.

As well as his goal, Roberts also had five clearances, five interceptions, blocked two shots and won four aerial duels in this one.

DEF: Patrick Bauer (Preston)
In his first league start since December 2020, Patrick Bauer scored the winning goal for North End against Peterborough as well as helping Preston keep their first clean sheet of the season.

The German defender looked as sharp as ever and his return from injury will no doubt be a huge boost for the Lilywhites.

DEF: Aden Flint (Cardiff)
At this rate Aden Flint might be in the golden boot race come the end of the season, a brace in this weekend’s game against Millwall has now put him as the league’s top scorer with four goals.

The six-foot six towering defender was absolutely dominant in this one as he won 18 aerial duels throughout the afternoon.

DEF: Antonee Robinson (Fulham)
There have been plenty of transfer rumours linking the Fulham full-back with a Premier League move this summer, but for the time being it looks like he’ll be sticking around and that can only be good news for Fulham.

He was superb in their 2-0 win over Hull as he set up Fabio Carvalho for Fulham’s second goal of the afternoon.

MID: Tahith Chong (Birmingham)
Tahith Chong was a constant threat for Birmingham in the number 10 role as Luton just couldn’t handle the Manchester United loanee.

Chong had a hand in setting up each of Scott Hogan’s goals, his lung-busting run for Birmingham’s third goal was particularly impressive as he carried the ball from his own box.

MID: Jean-Michael Seri (Fulham)
Fulham have an abundance of quality running through their squad and that was certainly on show this weekend, particularly from Jean-Michael Seri who absolutely bossed the midfield in this one.

He set up the opening goal for Mitrovic and then produced four key passes, won three tackles and controlled the rest of the game.

MID: Ben Sheaf (Coventry)
Ben Sheaf was absolutely everywhere as Coventry picked up all three points against Reading to send themselves fourth in the table.

Whether he was playing as part of a back three or in midfield, he was superb throughout the afternoon as he made eight tackles, won four aerial duels and had over 100 touches of the ball.

MID: Josh Tymon (Stoke)
Josh Tymon finished off one of the best goals we’ve seen so far this season as Stoke cut their way through Forest in the second half.

Tymon was a constant threat on the left-hand side throughout the afternoon as he registered three key passes and completed three tackles.

FOR: Dom Solanke (Bournemouth)
Dom Solanke’s brace against Blackpool might not have been enough to secure all three points for the Cherries, but he led the line superbly and the opposition struggled to contain him all afternoon.

As well as scoring the goals, his link-up play was also top notch as he produced three key passes during the 90 minutes.

FOR: Scott Hogan (Birmingham)
Scott Hogan completes the hat-trick of Birmingham players in this team of the week as his brace sent Birmingham on their way to a flawless five-star showing against Luton.

Up until this point, Hogan has had a frustrating season where things didn’t quite seem to be falling for him in the box, but this weekend was a huge shift in fortunes for the Birmingham striker.
