Chelsea ask Inter Milan for €30m to sell Alonso

Chelsea will reportedly ask for at least €30m to consider selling Marcos Alonso to Inter Milan.

Alonso has fallen down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge, but was a firm favourite under Antonio Conte, who is now eager to reunite with him.

According to Corriere Dello Sport (via Sport Witness), Conte wants to take Alonso with him to Inter Milan in January, but the asking price may make things difficult for the Serie A side.

It is claimed that Roman Abramovich will refuse to sell Alonso for less than €30m, whereas Inter want to sign him on loan with an option to buy for around €20m at the end of the season.

The Nerazzurri are said to be willing to pay all of Alonso’s wages if they could take him on loan, but Chelsea are not willing to sanction a deal via that formula.

The left-back, who turns 29 at the end of December, is under contract at Stamford Bridge until 2023, having signed a new deal last October.

Should the two clubs fail to meet a compromise, Inter are expected to target former Manchester United defender Matteo Darmian instead, who joined Parma in the summer.
