Reports have claimed that Chelsea are eyeing up a move for a Manchester United player ahead of the summer transfer window.

Todd Boehly hasn’t held back when investing in his Chelsea side and they are expected to be busy in the summer once again.

Graham Potter’s side currently sit 10th in the Premier League and they will already have one eye on next season.

The goalkeeping department has been a big debating point at Stamford Bridge as Kepa Arrizabalaga has taken Edouard Mendy’s place this season.

Mendy has been linked with a move away from Chelsea and so the club are assessing their options in this position.

A fresh report from Football Insider has claimed that Chelsea are considering a move for Dean Henderson as the goalkeeper is looking for a permanent move away from Man United.

The report explains that the ’26-year-old is pushing for a permanent move this summer’ and that ‘Tottenham and Chelsea have already shown interest.’

The England goalkeeper is currently on loan at Nottingham Forest although he is no longer the first choice after they signed Keylor Navas in January.

Henderson has started in 18 Premier League matches for Forest, but an injury has kept him out of action since January.

The goalkeeper was keen on leaving Man United last summer in search of regular first-team football.

“I didn’t want the manager (Ten Hag) to come in and be able to see me in training,” Henderson told talkSPORT at the start of the season.

“I knew he’d probably want to keep me, so I tried to do it all before I left for the season. I told the hierarchy I need to go and play football, I don’t want to be here playing second fiddle.

“It was all planned out. I was almost gone before the manager came through the door and I haven’t spoken to him since. To be honest with you, it’s probably been the toughest 12 months of my career.

“It’s been tough, it’s been hard and I’m so happy I’ve got out the other end of it. I’m so excited to be here and ready to go.”

Chelsea have previously been interested in Henderson as they reportedly had a £50million bid rejected while Frank Lampard was the manager.

Along with Chelsea, Tottenham are also said to be interested in making a move for Henderson this summer.

Spurs are looking to sign a long-term replacement for Hugo Lloris and someone like Henderson fits into the younger profile they are considering.

Henderson is contracted with Man United until the summer of 2025 although a permanent move in the summer could be best for all parties involved.
