Chelsea have entered the race to sign Birmingham City youngster Jude Bellingham with the asking price shooting up to £50m, according to reports.
Bellingham became Birmingham’s youngest ever first-team player in August 2019 when he made his debut aged 16 years and 38 days and has scored four goals in 31 appearances.
Manchester United reportedly made a £25million bid to Birmingham for Bellingham back in January – but now Chelsea are ready to pursue the starlet.
The Sun claims that Man Utd and Chelsea are ‘leading the charge’ for Bellingham with both clubs ready to spend as much as £50m to land the Birmingham youngster, with £35m coming up front before spending another £15m on add-ons.
Bellingham is ‘being watched’ by other clubs around Europe too, including Barcelona and Real Madrid.
In October, The Sun reported that Man Utd were willing to spend £30m on Bellingham but the latest report adds that the ‘competition has grown to such an extent the bidding will increase.’
