Chelsea ‘could offer more than €100m’ for top target as three-striker wishlist revealed
Chelsea have reportedly drawn up a three-striker wishlist ahead of the summer transfer window and ‘could offer more than €100m’ for their top target, according to reports.
The Blues have scored just 36 goals in a dire season which sees them eleventh in the Premier League with three games to play.
Having spent £600m on new additions in his first season as owner, Todd Boehly will soon announce Mauricio Pochettino as the club’s new permanent manager, and although the Argentinian’s first job will be to trim the bulging squad, he will then be involved in lining up new recruits.
Reports suggest the Blues will look to sign a goalkeeper, a central midfielder and a striker this summer.
That’s despite the possibility of Romelu Lukaku being offered a chance to ‘relaunch his career’ back at Chelsea after a year on loan at Inter Milan, to evidence the club’s “unfinished business”, not his.
Calciomercato journalist Rudy Galetti has revealed Chelsea have three strikers on their shortlist ahead of the summer.
He wrote on Twitter that Victor Osimhen is ‘the main target’ after a stunning season for Napoli, in which he scored 28 goals in 36 appearances.
Chelsea ‘could offer more than €100m’ for the 24-year-old, and they’ll have to offer significantly more than that, with reports claiming Napoli want €150m for their marksman.
Should they fall short in their bid for Osimhen, who’s being targeted by other European giants this summer, Galetti claims the Blues will also look at Juventus’ Dusan Vlahovic and Eintracht Frankfurt’s Randal Kolo Muani as further options.
Reports last month claimed Vlahovic is looking to leave Juventus having struggled to fit into Max Allegri’s system this season.
The Serbia international – who snubbed Arsenal to move to Juve in January 2022 – has managed just ten Serie A goals this term would be transferable for ‘no less than £80m’, according to reports.
Randal Kolo Muani, who has been linked with Manchester United and is also thought to be high on Bayern Munich’s list of targets, has managed 22 goals and 15 assists in all competitions for Frankfurt this term, and is also thought to be available for around the £80m mark.
