Chelsea rejected £25m deadline day bid from Tottenham

Tottenham had a £25million approach for Tammy Abraham rejected by Chelsea on deadline day.

Tottenham became the first Premier League club to not make a single signing in a summer window this season.

Mauricio Pochettino targeted Jack Grealish and Anthony Martial throughout the summer, but no moves materialised.

According to Goal, the north London club were working all the way up until the deadline however.

They report that Tottenham had a £25m move for Abraham turned down by Chelsea, and we can’t quite work out which club is the most stupid.

Abraham – whose first name is actually Kevin –  has recently been linked with a loan move to the Championship, with Aston Villa interested in the 20-year-old.

The England international is likely to leave Chelsea this summer, with manager Maurizio Sarri recently suggesting his squad is “too big”.

Yet the Premier League side turned down a £25m approach from Tottenham, who were clearly impressed by his five goals in 31 Premier League games for Swansea last season.
