Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi is nearing the exit door as a move to Nottingham Forest now seems to be on the cards.

Mauricio Pochettino has had to let go of several first team players this summer as he goes about rebuilding the squad.

Hudson-Odoi’s future has been up in the air for quite some time, especially as he spent last season on loan with Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga.

The 22-year-old is now in the final year of his contract with Chelsea and a fresh start elsewhere is perhaps the best thing for his career right now.

It recently came to light that Nottingham Forest were interested in signing the winger and The Athletic have now confirmed the latest details.

The report explains that Steve Cooper’s side are now in ‘advanced talks’ for the winger and that negotiations are moving in a ‘positive direction.’

It is also stated that ‘discussions include the option for a permanent transfer’ although this is yet to be finalised.

Cooper has worked with Hudson-Odoi before while working in the England set-up and he will relish the chance to coach the youngster once again.

Fabrizio Romano has also provided an update on the player and has claimed the negotiations are now in the “final stages”.

“Understand Nottingham Forest are now closing in on Callum Hudson-Odoi deal. Negotiations moving to final stages with Chelsea,” Romano confirmed.

“Talks underway, details to be clarified today but CHO could join Forest soon.”

Hudson-Odoi isn’t the only Chelsea player who could be leaving the club either. Marc Cucurella has given Man Utd the green light as Erik ten Hag’s side look to strike a deal.

Given Man Utd’s injury crisis at left-back they are looking to sign Cucurella on loan to cover the position. Romano has clarified that an ‘agreement in principle’ is now in place.

“Things are progressing for Manchester United and Marc Cucurella. They have an agreement in principle on personal terms with the player,” Romano told Caught Offside.

“He’s given them the green light and so now they will focus on reaching an agreement with Chelsea as soon as possible, and won’t negotiate for other left-backs.

“At Man United they believe that Cucurella is a perfect opportunity. He’s a proven player, excellent in his position. Of course, he wasn’t lucky on his first season at Chelsea but what he did at Brighton and Getafe can’t be forgotten.”
