Chelsea are upset that new Bayern Munich boss Thomas Tuchel made his interest in coach Anthony Barry public as he turns his attention to two Blues players, according to reports.

Tuchel was sacked by Chelsea in September and replaced by Graham Potter with the Blues having a terrible season under the former Brighton manager as they sit tenth in the Premier League.

And the German waited for the right opportunity to get back into management with Tuchel replacing Julian Nagelsmann last Friday.

Bayern Munich sit second in the Bundesliga table, one point behind leaders Borussia Dortmund, and in an extremely unusual position for them after winning the last ten German titles.

And Tuchel went public with his interest in bringing Chelsea coach Barry to the Allianz Arena, he said: “My coaching staff wasn’t prepared either, so a big thank you to their families for their flexibility.

“Arno Michels and Zsolt Löw, who have been working with me for over ten years, will be there. We’re hoping to add Anthony Barry, who is currently at Chelsea.”

The Times claims that his public declaration of interest ‘disappointed’ the Chelsea hierarchy and they warn the Blues that ‘Barry may not be the only Chelsea employee subject to interest from Tuchel over the coming months’.

The newspaper touch on Manchester City’s interest in Chelsea midfielder Mateo Kovacic and insist that Bayern Munich ‘could also enter the race to sign’ the Croatia international.

Speaking last year, Tuchel revealed his admiration for Kovacic, he said: “He looks like a wonderkid in training in some exercises. A lovely guy, a humble guy, and so interested in sports. He’s so happy to train and deliver for the team. It’s a true pleasure.

“Even at Real Madrid, I was aware of his talent, and I felt there was a next step coming. I’m very happy that he’s my player and plays a lot this season. He is crucial to us on the pitch and off the pitch in the way he behaves.”

And The Sun report that Tuchel is ‘ready to raid’ Chelsea for Mason Mount too and is a ‘huge fan’ of the ‘unsettled’ England international.

Both Kovacic and Mount have contracts running out in 2024 and the Blues could choose to sell both of them as Todd Boehly wants to avoid losing any players on a free transfer.

On Mount to Bayern Munich, The Sun adds:

‘And there are already early suggestions the six-times European champions will approach Chelsea chairman Todd Boehly about striking a deal in the summer.

‘There has been no contact whatsoever between the two parties so far.’
