Chelsea, Aston Villa and Nottm Forest target Tyler Adams is reportedly hoping to return to full fitness by the end of August and he’s hoping to leave Leeds.

Adams was one of Leeds United’s marquee signings during last summer’s window as he was signed from RB Leipzig for around £20m.

The USA international was one of Leeds United’s better players last term as he more than held his own in the Premier League.

The centre-midfielder missed the final few months of last season through injury and he was sorely missed during the run-in as they suffered relegation from the Premier League on the last day of the campaign.

Adams is still injured at the moment but he is being heavily linked with a move to the Premier League. Aston Villa and Nottm Forest are known to be in the running for the midfielder but Chelsea are reportedly considering him as a potential alternative to Moises Caicedo.

Recent reports have reiterated that Adams ‘wants to quit’ Leeds United this summer and there is understood to be a ‘relegation clause’ in his contract that will allow him to leave the club during this transfer window.

Football Insider are now reporting on a ‘huge update’ regarding Adams. He is ‘hopeful he can recover from his hamstring injury ahead of schedule to increase the possibility of him securing a move before the close of the transfer window’. The report adds.

‘Leeds boss Daniel Farke claimed Adams was set to be out of action until the international break in September after suffering a setback in his recovery from a hamstring problem.

‘However, Adams is thought to be making good progress with his recovery and, although he will miss the start of the new EFL season this week, he is aiming to return to light training next week and be available to play before the end of August.

‘The news would come as a “huge” boost to the interested suitors in Adams.

‘Aston Villa, Chelsea and Nottingham Forest are all weighing up moves for the USA international before the close of the transfer window.’

This report comes as Chelsea face competition from Premier League rivals Liverpool in the race to sign Caicedo, who is valued at £100m by Brighton.

The two clubs have reportedly offered around £80m for the Ecuador international but Brighton are refusing to lower their huge asking price for their prized asset.
