Cherries hold Dale at Spotland

The home side created the better chances in the League Two clash and bossed the first half, only to fall a goal behind on the stroke of half-time to a controversial penalty decision.
A long punt upfield by Bournemouth goalkeeper Shwan Jalal sent Matt Tubbs racing into the Rochdale penalty area, referee Graham Laws pointing to the spot for a pull on his shirt by Marcus Holness.
Rochdale manager Keith Hill protested that Tubbs was in an offside position when the ball came forward but his side went one down when Lee Bradbury stepped forward to slam the penalty down the centre of Sam Russell’s goal.
Rochdale had tested Jalal with a 30-yard rising drive from Adam Le Fondre just two minutes into the game while Lee McEvilly had a shot blocked and Will Buckley fired wide after a mesmerising run at the visitors’ goal.
Dale levelled in the 67th minute when a one-two between Clark Keltie and Le Fondre ended with the striker peeling off his marker and thumping a thunderous finish into the roof of the net from 12 yards.
