The Chinese Super League have turned their attention from buying the best players in the Premier League to the best referees.

The Daily Mirror claims that referee Mark Clattenburg is the subject of interest from China’s football revolution with the league hoping to tempt top officials to the country.

Clattenburg took charge of the two biggest matches in world football this year when he oversaw the Champions League final and the European Championship final.

Several of the biggest names in football have reportedly had offers from China including John Terry, Alexis Sanchez and Wayne Rooney, with the latter being offered £700,000-a-week to move.

Oscar is the most recent star to pledge his future to the league by making the move from Chelsea to Shanghai SIPG for a reported £52million with wages of £400,000-a-week.

And now Clattenburg, who won the best referee in the world gong at the Globe Soccer Awards in China on Tuesday, looks like he will be the next big name to be tested by a lucrative offer.
