Andy Cole reckons Manchester United’s Treble winners of 1999 could have beaten Manchester City’s Quadruple chasers.
The Red Devils won the Premier League title, FA Cup and Champions League under Sir Alex Ferguson, but Pep Guardiola’s City are looking to go one better this term having already secured the League Cup.
Cole was United’s centre-forward in ’99 and the former England striker told Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football that his former side had what it takes to turn over the current Premier League champions.
“We have all the components to beat them,” he said.
“Football has changed a hell of a lot but I look at that United team and I genuinely believe we have all the tools to match anyone now.”
