Confusion reigns as Toure agent dismisses apology

Yaya Toure’s future at Manchester City is again in doubt after the latest comments from his controversial agent.
Dimitri Seluk revealed that Toure had demanded he apologise to City manager Pep Guardiola on Friday morning, and the agent said that he wished to draw a line in the sand over their difficult past.
Toure then issued an apology on behalf of himself and Seluk later in the day.
However, the agent has cast his client’s future into doubt once more after refusing to apologise to Guardiola.
He told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast: “I’m not apologising. We want peace, but I’m not apologising. Apologise for what?
“Maybe Toure has apologised for this, but I don’t know for what. I think Yaya doesn’t mean this. He wants peace between him and Guardiola.
“A lot of supporters want to see Yaya on the field and Yaya wants to help Manchester City get good results.
“We want to make peace between Guardiola, Yaya and me for the supporters, the team and for the results.
“A player like Yaya, one of the top players in the world, with a big salary, normally doesn’t stay out of the team. He must play.”
As we said in September, Seluk is tainting Toure’s legacy. Shame.
