Confusion reigns over Rodriguez to Man United reports

There are conflicting reports with regards to James Rodriguez’s expected move to Manchester United.

Colombian media reported late on Monday that Rodriguez would be announced as a United player immediately after the club’s final game of the Premier League season, their home clash with Crystal Palace.

Radio station Caracol claim that the midfielder, who joined Real Madrid after he shone at the 2014 World Cup, is on course to move to Old Trafford.

Spanish media report the same, but they disagree on the timescale of the move itself.

Newspaper AS reported on Tuesday morning that the deal will not be made official until after Real have competed in the Champions League final against Juventus on June 3.

They do still seem adamant that Rodriguez will join United, but it is only fellow Spanish daily Marca who provide a potential price for the transfer.

They claim that the move will cost United £65million, which would mean Real recoup most of their initial outlay on the player three years ago.

Sky Sports report that the 25-year-old has been ‘offered’ to United, and could be available for a fee as low as £50m.

Only one thing is for certain: Rodriguez is expected to leave the Bernabeu this summer. He has started just 13 games in La Liga and four in the Champions League, and is not part of Zinedine Zidane’s regular first-team plans.
