Conte discusses relationship with owner Abramovich
Antonio Conte has branded Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich a “very demanding employer”.
Conte was appointed Blues manager in the summer, and has taken to life in the Premier League after arriving from Italy.
Chelsea have won seven of their ten league games thus far, and sit in fourth, just one point behind Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool, who are level on points at the top.
Conte has particularly impressed with his tactical acumen, changing the side’s playing system to include a three-man defence after defeats to Arsenal and Liverpool.
They have scored 11 goals in their last four league games without conceding one, and have been tipped by many as contenders for the title.
Speaking to Sky Italia, the 47-year-old discussed owner Abramovich, who has something of a reputation for being difficult with certain managers.
“He’s a very demanding employer but a great football enthusiast,” he said.
“Mr Abramovich is an employer and owner who has great passion for football. He wants to know and understand your ideas.
“He went to Austria to follow our training sessions. He comes to Cobham to spend time with us and watch the videos I show to my players, because he really wants to understand. I think this is wonderful.”
