Antonio Conte is keen to appoint Andrea Pirlo, “the Italian”, as one of his coaches at Chelsea.
Conte worked with Pirlo as player and manager at Juventus from 2011 until the 47-year-old’s departure in 2014.
Pirlo won three Serie A titles in as many seasons under the Chelsea boss, and the two could now link up at Stamford Bridge.
Former Chelsea coach Ray Wilkins claims that Pirlo, now playing for New York City FC in MLS, has “been around Stamford Bridge” a number of times this season.
“Pirlo, the Italian, speaks English and he can come in tomorrow,” Wilkins told talkSPORT.
“I know for a fact he’s been around Stamford Bridge a few times this season.
“He’s the one I’m sure he wants to bring in – he managed him until he was 34 at Juventus.”
