Philippe Coutinho says that playing at Liverpool is a dream come true, and rejected any notion that he wishes to leave the club.

There has long been talk that Barcelona hold an interest in Coutinho, and would look to reunite him with Luis Suarez. That said, Coutinho’s recent form hasn’t quite been of the level required to substantiate that interest.

In an interview with World Soccer magazine, Coutinho said that he was not thinking about any move away from Liverpool, believing that he already plays in the best league in the world. So there.

“I just like to live in the moment,” Coutinho said.

“I am not looking ahead. Being here at Liverpool is a dream come true.

“I am already playing in the best league in the world and I have a number of years left on my contract that I only renewed last year.

“I am very happy and my focus is on helping Liverpool fight for trophies.”

Coutinho also expressed his happiness at his relationship and understanding with Roberto Firmino at club level.

“Our understanding is improving and I am learning more and more about the way he likes to play, as well as his movement off the ball,” he said. “Hopefully that can be beneficial to both Liverpool and Brazil.

“He’s a great player who brings a lot of quality into the squad, but it is not just about two players and a partnership.

“The whole squad is working to improve as our main objective is to win trophies as a unit.”
