Ronaldo set for next club

It is being reported that Cristiano Ronaldo has only received “one real offer” since his exit from Man Utd after a move to their rivals “collapsed”.

The 37-year-old is now fully focused on securing himself a new club as Portugal exited the World Cup in the quarter-finals.

He is without a club after an interview with Piers Morgan led to his contract at Man Utd being mutually terminated.

During this interview, the attacker slammed Erik ten Hag, Ralf Rangnick and the Glazer family.

Ronaldo was keen to leave during the summer but not many clubs were willing to pursue him.

Chelsea were linked with Ronaldo and this interest was started by their co-owner Todd Boehly. But the deal did not happen as ex-boss Thomas Tuchel was against the move.

The forward is now being heavily linked with a move to Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr.

The Middle East outfit are understood to be willing to offer Ronaldo around £173m per year.

Now journalist Gianluca Di Marzio is reporting that Al-Nassr are the only club who have made a “real offer” to Ronaldo.

“The only real offer that he has on the table is Al-Nassr. They want him from the summer and the money on the table is €200 million, it’s surreal. Two-and-a-half year contract,” Di Marzio told Soccer News.

“The priority of Cristiano was to stay and play in Europe. But now, no clubs in Europe approached him in a concrete way.

“At the moment, Al-Nassr is the only solution that he has on the table.”

Di Marzio later suggested that Ronaldo was in talks to join Newcastle United but the move to Man Utd’s Premier League rivals “collapsed”.

“Only Newcastle, because the idea was he could play till June in Newcastle and then go to Al-Nassr but I think that has collapsed,” Di Marzio added.

“He’s out of contract so before he will sign, I don’t know if some other solutions will arrive. In this moment, only Arab teams like from Dubai as well, are options.

“Not in Europe as he would like. Sporting CP, yes, they’re ready to get him but not with the economical offers that he could have from Al-Nassr and other Arab clubs.”

Gary Neville has butted heads with Ronaldo in recent months but the Man Utd legend wants his former teammate to stay in the Premier League.

The pundit feels Ronaldo deserves to keep playing for a club competing in a major league.

On Thursday, it was claimed that Arsenal ‘will make an attempt’ to sign Ronaldo on a free transfer.

The Gunners ‘would like to join the race’ and their offer is ‘gaining ground’. Though this report is from Rudy Galetti, and his track record with exclusives like this is pretty erratic.
