Croatia boss Ante Cacic has confirmed that Manchester United have missed out on the chance to sign an Inter Milan star.
It is no secret that Ivan Perisic was one of United’s top summer targets, with Jose Mourinho pushing to bring in the Croatia international.
Reports had suggested that the former Wolfsburg man was pushing for a move, however the deal was never finalised due to Inter’s demand of a €55million fee.
Perisic had reportedly reached a verbal agreement with the Red Devils, but did actively not push to leave the Nerazzurri with new Inter boss Luciano Spalletti eventually persuading him to stay at San Siro.
Calciomercato.com stated a few weeks ago that Perisic is set to extend with the Serie A giants and Croatia boss Ante Cacic has confirmed that is the case.
“Ivan is very happy at Inter,” Cacic revealed.
“They have a new manager and he feels important now. I know he is happy in Milan and that the club is preparing a new contract for him.”
