Crystal Palace and Valencia have both “asked” Manchester United for Donny van de Beek on loan, according to reports.

The Netherlands international moved to Man Utd in 2020 from Dutch side Ajax for a fee that could rise to £40m with add-ons.

Following a frustrating first season, Van de Beek is yet to start a Premier League game for the Red Devils this campaign and is said to be becoming increasingly annoyed by his lack of game time.

Crystal Palace are Premier League’s Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde

Van de Beek has only played seven minutes in the Premier League under interim manager Ralf Rangnick. He has been an unused substitute in five of United’s last six league games, playing one minute in the draw at Aston Villa on January 15.

The 24-year-old did play a full 90 minutes in the Champions League against Young Boys but he has only managed seven Premier League minutes under Rangnick so far.

And that has led to rumours that he will leave Man Utd in January with a loan move to a Premier League club seemingly the most likely option.

Van de Beek has been linked with numerous teams, including Borussia Dortmund, Newcastle United, Everton and Wolves.

Two more teams have been thrown in the mix, however. Crystal Palace and Valencia have both “asked” United for the player on loan, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Italian journalist claims that the Red Devils have no intention of including an option to buy in any deal.

Rangnick is also said to be keen on keeping him at Old Trafford for the remainder of the season, but with the player desperate for game time, the German may be forced to let him leave on a temporary basis.

Romano wrote on Twitter: “Crystal Palace and Valencia have both asked for Van de Beek on loan. Donny wants to play, Rangnick reluctant to let him go but Palace will push.

“Man Utd are not accepting any loan with buy option proposal – they want Van de Beek to be in the team for season 22/23.”
