Dani Alves: Dybala will have to leave Juventus

Dani Alves admits to have told Pablo Dybala that he must leave Juventus if he is to fulfill his potential.

Dybala has become one of the game’s hottest properties after scoring 30 Serie A goals for Juve since joining from Palermo in 2015. The Argentina forward has been earmarked as a potential successor to Lionel Messi in the national team, and Barcelona are said to be among the teams monitoring his progress.

The 23-year-old extended his contract with Juve until 2022 in April but ex-Barca defender Alves, who moved to the Bianconeri last summer, believes Dybala will struggle to achieve his potential if he stays with Juventus.

“We have talked and I told him that one day he will have to leave to improve,” he told Brazilian television channel Esporte Interativo.

“He is a jewel that will blossom. We talked so many times about it and I said one day, I don’t know when, that he will have to leave Juventus if he is to improve even more.”
