David James accuses Everton of lying to new signings

Former Liverpool goalkeeper David James has accused Everton of misleading their new signings.

James believes that Everton will have sold the club on the presence of Romelu Lukaku, only to sell the striker to Manchester United.

“It makes me laugh because, dare I say, there were a few players signed before Lukaku left,” James told the Daily Star.

“I can imagine part of the conversation [before signing] would have to have included the word Lukaku.

“And then two minutes later he leaves. Whether or not players are happy or not with the fact he’s left remains to be seen.”

Alternatively, Jamo, Everton’s new signings knew perfectly well what was on the cards. It didn’t take a genius to know that Lukaku might leave, and they presumably were sold Ronald Koeman’s project plan.
