Ben Davies hits back at Mourinho’s ‘lazy’ Spurs claim
Ben Davies believes he and his teammates gave everything in defeat to Everton on Sunday, despite Jose Mourinho branding it a “lazy” performance.
The Tottenham boss claims they had “the wrong state of mind” and were not trying hard enough to press their opponents.

But Davies insists they tried as hard as they could, but admits their performance wasn’t up to the mark.
The Wales defender said: ”Look it’s a tough one. I think everybody worked hard. Me personally, I gave it my all.
“I wouldn’t doubt that everybody else in the team gave it their all. But the performance wasn’t up to scratch
“It’s hard to put it down to a lack of effort. I’m sure we will evaluate where we went wrong moving forward.”
He added: “Yeah it’s obviously not how we wanted to start the season. It’s disappointing. But we have to look at the bigger picture. Lot more games to come.”
