David de Gea could be available for Manchester United against Liverpool after Vicente Del Bosque revealed that the Spain goalkeeper is ready to face Macedonia on Tuesday.

De Gea has yet to play this season after United boss Louis van Gaal refused to consider him for selection while doubts remained over his future at Old Trafford.

The Spaniard’s collapsed move to Real Madrid on deadline day was said to have left De Gea “distraught” but national team coach Del Bosque insists the keeper is “fine” and ready to play if chosen in Skopje.

“He is in condition to play,” Del Bosque said. “We have talked with him and he is fine. I do not know if he will play or not, but he is OK and that’s all I wanted to know.

“He is a mature guy and is ready to play without suffering any burden of what happened. I have talked to him. I did not want to give him any advice because many people have already done it.

“I just asked whether he was in condition to play and he told me yes. Nothing else. We have a big squad and we must rotate it.”

Del Bosque selected Iker Casillas for their 2-0 home win over Slovakia on Saturday.
