Dele Alli could “make the step up” to play for Real Madrid, according to Swansea manager Paul Clement.
Alli has been one of Tottenham’s star players of another promising season under Mauricio Pochettino.
The midfielder has scored 14 goals and assisted a further five in 28 Premier League games this campaign, and has been linked with a number of Europe’s elite clubs.
Reports emerged earlier this year that Real Madrid were ‘considering a stunning summer swoop‘ to sign the 20-year-old, and Clement believes Alli could make the grade.
“Why can’t he make the step up? He’s still so young,” he said.
“All the best players get linked with Real Madrid, Eden Hazard is another one who is being linked at the moment.
“But if these teams want to do well and challenge for trophies, they’ve got to try and keep their best players.
“Like any player, the more consistent you are, and you’re challenging at the top, then you’re going to be of interest to arguably bigger clubs.”
