Deschamps to talk to Martial about Man United exit rumours

France boss Didier Deschamps will only offer his opinion and will not give advice to Anthony Martial over a potential move away from Manchester United.

The 22-year-old striker has been playing regularly this season with 16 of his 26 Premier League appearances coming as a starter.

However, the arrival of Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal has increased competition for places up top for the Red Devils and now Martial will have to battle it out with the Chilean plus Marcus Rashford, Jesse Lingard, Romelu Lukaku and Juan Mata.

Juventus have been strongly linked with a move for Martial but Deschamps – who has close ties to the Old Lady having played and managed there – wasn’t keen to be drawn on the speculation.

“Martial has a contract with United and the club does not want to sell him,” Deschamps told Tuttosport. “Then let’s see if he will be looked for, by Juventus or by someone else.”

When asked what he would do if Martial asked for advice on his future, Deschamps replied: “I do not give advice, I give my opinion. Then, eventually, it is up to the players to decide.”
