‘Dispute’ holding up United’s move for Lindelof – report

Manchester United’s move for Victor Lindelof has hit a snag following a disagreement between his former club and Benfica.

Lindelof was set to become one of the early movers in the January transfer window, with United said to be close to completing a £38million move for the 22-year-old.

But, according to The Sun, the move has been held up over a claim from the defender’s former club Vasteras.

The Swedish outfit are demanding £212,000 from Benfica for the amount of Champions League appearances the centre-half has made for the Portuguese giants.

Jose Mourinho wanted defensive reinforcements secured before Eric Bailly leaves for the Africa Cup of Nations next month, but United may have to wait to get their man.
