Dixon: Arsenal defence don’t know what they’re doing
Arsenal legend Lee Dixon has hit out at Arsene Wenger’s defence after their 1-1 draw with Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League on Tuesday.
The Gunners were lucky to escape the Parc des Princes with a point after Alexis Sanchez’s late equaliser got them off the mark in their group opener.
Despite the draw, Dixon was far from impressed with Arsenal and ripped into their defensive display against the French champions.
“It’s totally a balance thing for me,” said Dixon during ITV’s highlights show on Wednesday evening.
“With the ball we’re brilliant, but without it absolutely shocking, they don’t know what they’re doing.

“There are problems without the ball, it’s been like this for years now.
“(In the) 80th minute, they’ve just got back in the game, they’re not pressing. (Edison) Cavani should score another goal. (They were) great with the ball, great point, well done, but that can’t go on.”
Dixon’s fellow pundit Roy Keane was also less than complimentary to the Gunners and doesn’t see Wenger’s team getting very far in the competition.
“We keep repeating it,” he told ITV.
“They get through the group and when they play against a decent team in Europe they get knocked out.”
