Doncaster defender Dennis Souza will return to the squad after serving a one-game suspension in last week’s FA Cup clash with Wolves.
Midfielder Martin Woods, an unused substitute last week, is also hoping to feature following his recent struggles with a groin injury.
But Rovers will still be without skipper Brian Stock (back) and Mustapha Dumbuya due to a knee problem, while fellow defender Shelton Martis, who has had a special boot fitted to aid his recovery from an ankle injury, and Wayne Thomas (calf) remain sidelined.
Defenders George Friend and James Chambers returned last week from respective knee injuries and are again in contention and midfielder Simon Gillett (knee) is hoping to be included after being sidelined since mid-October.
Reading, meanwhile, will again start with Shane Long in attack.
Long made his tally seven goals in the last six games last weekend with the winner in the FA Cup defeat of West Brom, but was replaced after taking a knock.
However, the Republic of Ireland international is fit to keep his place, but Andy Griffin has a fight to regain his after Shaun Cummings turned in an excellent performance in his place against West Brom.
Defender Zurab Khizanishvili is a doubt after he picked up a knee injury, but club captain Ivar Ingimarsson is available after shaking off a long-term hamstring injury which has so far ruled him out of the whole season.
