Dortmund confident of keeping Sancho in Germany

Borussia Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc thinks Jadon Sancho will be at the Bundesliga club for “some time” after his blistering start to the season.

The 18-year-old has scored four goals and laid another six on for his team-mates to help Dortmund to the top of the Bundesliga.

Sancho‘s performances caught the eye of England boss Gareth Southgate, who rewarded him with an international debut in the Three Lions’ UEFA Nations League match in Croatia.

He was rewarded by the German giants with a new contract that will keep him at the club until 2022, with Pep Guardiola already ruling out a return to Manchester City while he is manager.

And Zorc believes that Sancho will be helping Dortmund for a long time to come despite reported interest from across Europe.

“I’m pretty sure Jadon will be playing with us for some time,” Zorc told Bild.

And Sancho seemed to echo Zorc’s sentiments by confirming that he is “happy” at Dortmund.

“You can see that right now, I play a lot here,” Sancho said. “This is important for young players to develop.

“You never know what will happen in the future, but I’m really happy right now.”
