Burnley goalkeeper Nick Pope hailed Arsene Wenger as “a legend of the Premier League”.

The Frenchman’s last home game as Gunners’ boss at the Emirates Stadium before he leaves the north London club at the end of the season is against Burnley on Sunday.

Pope said: “Arsene Wenger is a legend of the Premier League.

“When he took over I was four years old. He’s the only manager I can picture in their dugout. He is Arsenal for people like me.”

Burnley manager Sean Dyche said of Wenger’s last home game: “I bet he’s delighted it’s against us. I’m sure it was written in the fairytale.

“His stamp on the profession and his stamp on football has been immense.”
