According to a Dutch football expert, Ajax attacker Mohammed Kudus “would go” to Man Utd to reunite with Erik ten Hag if they came in for him.

Kudus enjoyed a brilliant season during the 2022/23 campaign as he shone for Ajax and Ghana.

The 22-year-old grabbed 18 goals and seven assists for the Eredivisie giants across all competitions and he was one of the breakout stars at the World Cup in Qatar.

Ten Hag worked with Kudus during their time together at Ajax and the head coach has been keen to bring his former players with him to Old Trafford. He signed Lisandro Martinez and Antony last summer, while he also expressed interest in Jurrien Timber before the defender signed for Arsenal.

Kudus has also been heavily linked with Man Utd over the past year, but Arsenal and Chelsea are seemingly the most interested in him at the moment. He could reportedly cost as much as €45m this summer and he is said to ‘prefer’ a move to the Emirates.

But Dutch football expert Marcel van der Kraan reckons Kudus “would go” to United if they opted to step up their interest in him.

“Mohammed Kudus is a really interesting player in terms of midfield and striker – he can play both,” Van der Kraan told Sky Sports News.

“This is why he is on the horizon, on their list. He may not be the number one yet but if any of the players mentioned fail to come and talks break down, Kudus could be an ideal option.”

“Quite significantly, who is in a training camp with Ajax in the south of Germany near Munich, has made it clear he wants to leave.

“When a player says that, he usually has something lined up. He is very keen on a move to the Premier League, whether that is a top club in London or Manchester. As soon as Ten Hag would knock on his door, he would go.”

Netherlands legend Marco van Basten recently argued that the Ajax star is “much better” than Man Utd winger Antony.

Van Basten told Voetbal International: “‘I even think he’s much better than Antony. He’s a better footballer and he’s more fun to play with.

“‘Antony had actions, but he could also be so confused. Kudus has a much firmer technique and knows where he is going.

“Antony may be faster, but Kudus is smarter and more technical. He is much more of a footballer and an all-rounder for the team.”
