Antonio Conte looks set to become the new Spurs manager and ‘Serie A trembles’ at the thought ahead of the January transfer window.

Nuno Espirito Santo was relieved of his duties on Monday with managing director of football Fabio Paratici saying in a Spurs statement that “a further coaching update will follow in due course.”

It looks for all the world as though that “coaching update” will be to announce Conte as their new manager.

The 52-year-old is ‘ready to accept’ the Spurs job, according to Fabrizio Romano.

And Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla has added that ‘closure is expected today’, claiming a ‘private flight is ready’ to take the former Chelsea boss to London to iron out the ‘final details’ of the agreement.

Conte has ‘asked for a guarantee of an important technical and economic project’ amid talk of an 18-month contract worth €15m per season.

In addition, the Italian – who won the Serie A title with Inter Milan last term – has aked for ‘three to four players’ in January.

And Sport Witness have compiled a list of nine players Conte has shown an interest in and could move for in the winter window, with Calciomercato claiming he has ‘very specific requests and wants big purchases’.

He has reportedly requested a transfer budget of €280m…

Sport Mediaset state: ‘Conte has not yet landed in London, but the market is already in turmoil. And Serie A is now trembling.’

Fiorentina chiefs have reportedly been in London to meet with Spurs over a potential move for striker Dusan Vlahovic – a player ‘on Conte’s target list – valued at €60m.

Conte is also keen on reuniting with former players Marcelo Brozovic, Stefan De Vrij and Alessandro Bastoni, while right-sided Lazio star Manuel Lazzari is also ‘on his wishlist’.

The Italian boss is also big admirer of €90m-rated Juventus forward Federico Chiesa, while Matthijs de Ligt, valued at €70m, is also on his radar.

But Conte could also target free transfers next summer, with AC Milan stars Frank Kessie and Alessio Romagnoli also ‘on the agenda’.
