Egypt ‘expect’ negative Salah test; could return to Liverpool this week

The Egyptian Ministry of Health’s head of COVID-19 Hossam Hosny claims Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah can fly back to England if he returns a negative test on Thursday.
On Saturday, the Egyptian Football Association said a medical swab taken from the 28-year-old came back positive for Covid-19, but said the player was not suffering from any symptoms.
The news came a day after it was confirmed Reds defender Joe Gomez had undergone knee surgery following an injury suffered in England training.

Salah’s positive test comes after he reportedly attended his brother’s wedding, with footage posted on social media appearing to show him dancing with other guests.
However, Hosny now says that Salah will be able to return to Merseyside if he gets a negative test on Thursday, although it is still unclear whether he would be fine to participate for Liverpool over the weekend.
“Salah is currently in El-Gouna to complete his quarantine and he will conduct another PCR test on Thursday,” Hosny explained (via This Is Anfield).
“And I expect that his result will be negative because until now, the player hasn’t shown any symptoms.
“Liverpool are communicating with us to check on Salah, and their medical staff agreed that he would travel to El-Gouna, and Salah can return to England if his test result on Thursday is negative.”
The Reds are not due to play again until their home Premier League match against Leicester on November 21.
