Unai Emery thinks Arsenal have players at the club capable of challenging for the Premier League title next season.
The Spaniard was unveiled as the new Gunners head coach on Wednesday morning before speaking to the media for the first time in the afternoon.
“I believe the players who are here, the objective is to work hard,” Emery told journalists. “With this talent of player, we be a candidate to be a challenger for the title.
“It’s very important to the club after being out of the Champions League for two years.”
During his first press conference Emery revealed that he intends to play as the “protagonists” with the ball and press without.
“My idea is to be protagonists all the match,” Emery continued. “We play against all the teams with this personality, with I think the history here is one.
“They love playing with possession of the ball. They like this personality. I like to be protagonists with the ball.
“And when you don’t have possession with the ball I want a squad, very very intensive, for the pressing.”
