Emery provides Ozil, Kolasinac update, swerves exit rumour

Unai Emery has provided an update on Mesut Ozil and Sead Kolasinac after the Arsenal duo were targeted by car-jackers in north London last month.

Security camera footage of the incident showed Kolasinac confronting the offenders after they approached Ozil’s car. The two Arsenal players emerged unhurt during the incident in Golders Green.

The duo were unavailable for last weekend’s 1-0 win at Newcastle as the police investigate “further security incidents”.

And now Emery has confirmed that the pair returned to training on Tuesday and he’s pleased to have the duo available again.

Emery told reporters: “They came back training with us on Tuesday, they came to start training with us, we had it off. Mesut Ozil is a little sick, he didn’t train yesterday.

“Each training gives us good information, different options with them. Am I pleased to have them back? Of course.”

Emery added: “I can’t respond the same. If they are training consistently each day with normal work I am going to decide and achieve the best solution each moment. It’s positive they are with us now.”

On rumours Ozil could leave to join DC United, Emery continued: “Really, really when we’re starting playing against Burnley, can you think I am thinking and losing my time if the player can leave here?”
