Eriksen to stay and leave Tottenham in limbo
Christian Eriksen looks set to stay at Tottenham as his dream move to Spain this summer has failed to materialise.
The Dane had his heart set on a move to either Real Madrid or Barcelona but now looks set to stay at White Hart Lane at least until January with the European transfer window set to close on September 2, reports Mail Online.
The midfielder has turned down a new contract with Spurs worth ‘in excess of £200,000 a week’.
Eriksen has just one year left on his contract so could leave for nothing next summer if he can’t agree a new deal with the club.
Eriksen has scored 49 goals and provided 64 assists for Spurs in his six seasons at White Hart Lane and is considered one of the best creative midfielders in Europe.
Chairman Daniel Levy is thought to want £50million for the midfielder which the two Spanish giants are unwilling to pay.
Paris Saint-Germain could make a move for Eriksen if they sell Neymar, while Juventus may look to him if they offload Paulo Dybala.
Whether Eriksen would consider a move to either of those clubs remains to be seen.
