Europa League draw: Arsenal face Sporting Lisbon in last 16 as Man Utd get Real Betis

Man Utd still in the Europa League

Man Utd will face Real Betis in the last 16 of the Europa League as their reward for beating Barcelona, while Premier League leaders Arsenal take on Portuguese giants Sporting Lisbon.

The Red Devils, who are hunting down the top two in the Premier League, beat Barca 4-3 on aggregate in their play-off match on Thursday night to set up a clash with another La Liga side in Real Betis.

Erik ten Hag will be hoping they can move past Los Verdiblancos as they still fight on four fights with Man Utd still in the FA Cup, Europa League and Carabao Cup, while they are just five points behind Premier League leaders Arsenal.

The Gunners, who didn’t need a play-off match to qualify for the last 16, have been drawn against Sporting Lisbon with the fourth-placed Portuguese giants well off the pace in the Primeira Liga after finishing runners-up to Porto last season.

High-flying Bundesliga side Union Berlin take on Belgian outfit Union Saint-Gilloise in one of the other standout ties with one side guaranteed to reach the quarter-finals for the first time.
