Inter Milan are stepping up their interest in Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris as they search for Andre Onana’s replacement.

After 11 seasons with the club, Lloris looks more than likely to depart this summer with Inter said to be among the clubs interested.

Spurs have already added to their goalkeeping department with the addition of Italian goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario.

The 26-year-old joined the club from Empoli for a fee in the region of £16m and fees up Lloris to look for a new club.

According to Foot Mercato, Inter have ‘intensified their talks with Lloris’ as they hope to conclude a deal as soon as possible.

The report states that discussions have ‘accelerated’ in recent hours as Inter searches for Onana’s replacement.

This could be good news for Manchester United as the arrival of Lloris could push Onana in their direction.

Following David De Gea’s exit, United have stepped up their pursuit of the Inter goalkeeper.

The Spanish goalkeeper took to social media to announce his exit from Old Trafford explaining: “I would like to express my unwavering gratitude and appreciation for the love from the last 12 years. We’ve achieved a lot since my dear Sir Alex Ferguson brought me to this club.

“I took incredible pride every time I pulled on this shirt, to lead the team, to represent this institution, the biggest club in the world was an honour only bestows upon a few lucky footballers.

“It’s been an unforgettable and successful period since I came here. I didn’t think from leaving Madrid as a young boy we would achieve what we did together.

“Now, it’s the right time to undertake a new challenge, to push myself again in new surroundings.”

Fabrizio Romano has outlined the latest developments with the Onana deal as Erik ten Hag will be keen on getting him in as soon as possible.

“New direct contacts between Inter and Man United over the weekend; official final bid next week to be accepted,” the journalist explained on Twitter.

“Clubs hope to have documents ready around Weds/Thurs; Onana already agreed terms with Man Utd.”
