European giants ‘confident’ over Kane deal despite Man Utd ‘preference’ as Spurs eye replacement
According to reports, Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich are ‘increasingly confident’ that they will be able to sign Harry Kane from Tottenham Hotspur.
Kane was sensational for a poor Spurs side last season, scoring 30 goals in his 38 Premier League appearances.
The England international is now attracting interest from several clubs around Europe and his long-term Tottenham future is in doubt as he has entered the final year of his contract.
The striker was heavily linked with Man Utd earlier this summer as he is understood to be admired by Erik ten Hag. But at the moment, Bayern Munich are seemingly the side most interested in him.
They have had a couple of bids rejected for Tottenham’s prized asset as they look to sign a long-term replacement for Robert Lewandowski, who joined Barcelona last summer.
Tottenham are understood to value Kane at around £100m this summer. Despite this, Sky Sports are reporting that Bayern Munich are becoming ‘increasingly confident’ regarding their chances of signing him. They add.
‘The Bundesliga club believe Kane will become a Bayern player if they can agree a fee with Spurs, but they have not been able to do that yet.
‘Sky in Germany’s Florian Plettenberg is reporting Bayern chief executive Jan Christian Dreesen and technical director Marco Neppe want to meet Spurs chairman Daniel Levy this week, preferably face to face.
‘Plettenberg says Bayern want to treat Spurs with total respect and they are not worried about reported interest from PSG. Sky Sports News reported last week that Kane will not sign a new contract with Tottenham this summer.’

This comes after it was claimed earlier this week that Kane would ‘prefer’ to join Man Utd if he was to leave Spurs this summer.
The Londoners should have their eyes on the market for potential replacements and Football Insider are reporting that they will target a ‘big-money striker should Kane leave’. They later added.
‘A well-placed source has revealed that Spurs are concerned about losing a “guaranteed” 25-goal-per-season striker from their squad. And as such, sources say the Lilywhites are ready to reinvest a big chunk of any fee received for Kane on a new marquee striker.
‘Reports earlier this summer had suggested that Richarlison would be relied upon to take up the mantle should the Tottenham talisman quit the club.
‘It is believed Dusan Vlahovic has been identified by transfer chiefs as a potential target – and will be available this summer. Juventus are facing financial difficulties and are open to the Serbia international leaving, with Tottenham set to face competition from Paris Saint-Germain for his signature.’
