European outfit ready to launch bid for Man Utd star as Ten Hag takes firm transfer stance
Manchester United’s Facundo Pellistri is attracting plenty of interest as Erik ten Hag has seemingly made his mind up on the 21-year-old.
The Uruguayan international featured in 10 first team matches last season, with the majority of his minutes coming from the bench.
Erik ten Hag is keen to send the 21-year-old out on loan this season to gain some much-needed experience. The winger has previously spent time on loan with Alaves and another loan this summer seems likely.
According to Twente Insite, Pellistri is one of FC Twente’s top targets this summer. The report claims that the United winger is ‘high’ on Arnold Bruggink’s list of transfer targets.
FC Twente aren’t alone in their interest though and Pellistri will have some say in where he ends up going.
Following Man Utd’s pre-season clash with Arsenal, the 21-year-old spoke on his future and how he and Ten Hag are working together to find a new club.
“Yes, I have spoken to him [Ten Hag] and we are working together to find the best club, the best way, the best option. I am happy with that way because we are all in the same position,” the winger explained via Manchester Evening News.
“[I’m hoping] to play. In my position and at my age, what you want is to play. We are looking forward to find the best solution to do that.”
While Ten Hag has seemingly made his mind up on Pellistri, he is still pondering over what to do with fellow youngster Amad Diallo.
Plenty of Premier League clubs have expressed an interest in taking Diallo, but Ten Hag has not decided whether to sanction another loan deal for the winger.
The 21-year-old impressed while out on loan with Sunderland in the Championship last season. He scored 14 goals and was one of the standout performers in the EFL.
Given Man Utd will be juggling four different competitions next season, he could be afforded some minutes in cup competitions if he does stick around for the year.
Diallo is under contract until 2025, with the club having the option to extend this deal by a further year. Ten Hag looks likely to make a final decision on Diallo’s future after Man Utd’s pre-season tour.
