Everton bring in Mangala as Mo heads for Boro

Manchester City defender Eliaquim Mangala has completed his loan move to Everton for the rest of the season, subject to Premier League clearance.

The 26-year-old has struggled to live up to his lofty price tag since arriving at the Etihad Stadium from Porto in 2014.

Mangala spent last term on loan at Valencia and made 15 appearances in all competitions for City this season.

However, the club-record arrival of Athletic Bilbao defender Aymeric Laporte has seen him join Everton for the remainder of the campaign subject to clearance.

“I am thrilled to have the opportunity to play for Everton,” defender Mangala said.

“I cannot wait to pull on the royal blue jersey for the first time and give my all for the supporters.”

Meanehile, midfielder Mo Besic has joined Middlesbrough on loan for the remainder of the season.

The 25-year-old has been at Goodison Park since 2014, making 56 appearances for the Toffees in that time.

However, Besic has found opportunities restricted this season and is now linking up with Tony Pulis’ side for the rest of the campaign.

“Everton midfielder Mo Besic has joined the club on loan,” said a statement on the club’s website.

“The Bosnian international completed his move late on deadline day evening, arriving on Teesside with an hour to spare before the transfer window closed.”
