Everton ‘in talks’ to sign Leeds starlet while another of Farke’s stars ‘wants to quit’
Premier League side Everton are now in negotiations to sign Wilfried Gnonto from Leeds United this summer, according to reports.
The Italian burst onto the scene at Elland Road last season after moving to Leeds from FC Zurich last summer with Gnonto producing a number of sparkling performances in the Premier League.
Gnonto already has 11 caps for Italy at the age of 19 and has a number of admirers around Europe after showing his talent at Leeds last term.
During the Under-21 European Championship over the summer, his agent, Claudio Vigorelli, said that he expected that “there will be options” for Gnonto to leave the Yorkshire side this summer.
“I say that we are focused on the national team and the European championship,” Vigorelli said on Calciomercato’s TVPlay. “Then we have to talk to Leeds and we’ll see, but I think there will be options.
“The Premier League experience has been fantastic for him and I think he wants to continue in that direction. But right now, the focus is on the national team.”

And now Football Insider claim that Everton are currently ‘in talks to sign’ Gnonto this summer with his exit from Elland Road ‘now inevitable’.
The Toffees, who have already added Ashley Young and Arnaut Danjuma to their squad this summer, are said to be ‘leading the race’ for Gnonto with the Italian ‘expected to leave Elland Road on a permanent basis in the coming weeks’ despite Leeds letting a number of players move on loan for the season.
Gnonto, who can play in most forward positions, is seen by Everton boss Sean Dyche ‘as key to the Toffees’ survival next term’ and discussions ‘are ongoing between Everton and Leeds and with the player’s representatives’.
In another report in Football Insider, it is claimed that Leeds midfielder Tyler Adams ‘wants to quit’ the Championship club this summer.
Adams is keen to ‘play at a higher level’ but his current injury ‘could complicate potential approaches for his signature’ with Daniel Farke expecting him to be out until after the first international break of the season.
Football Insider adds: ‘It is believed Bundesliga clubs are monitoring the former RB Leipzig midfielder ahead of a possible return to Germany in the summer window.’
The USA international swapped Bundesliga side RB Leipzig for Leeds last summer and the Championship side have the advantage in negotiations with four years remaining on the 24-year-old’s contract.
