Everton are currently the frontrunners to sign Granada goalkeeper Rui Silva, according to reports in Spain.
Silva earned his first senior breakthrough with Portuguese side Nacional. He made his Primeira Liga debut in May 2014.
The ‘keeper went onto make 55 appearances for Nacional up until January 2017. Then he signed for La Liga outfit Granada in a deal worth around €1.5m.
He put pen-to-paper on a four-and-a-half-year deal with the Spanish side. Silva established himself as their number one during the 2018/19 campaign.
The 26-year-old made 40 appearances that term before he went onto play 37 times during the 2019/20 season.
Silva has been an ever-present for Granada this season, but he is out of contract this summer. He is entering the final six months of his deal so he is now able to negotiate a pre-contract agreement with other clubs.
It was recently revealed that Real Betis had agreed on a deal to sign Silva this summer. But Spanish outlet Estadio Deportivo, as cited by Sport Witness, have reported that Silva could still end up elsewhere and he will “will opt for the highest bidder”.
It is believed that Everton, “who pay more than anyone”, stand as favourites to sign him.
