Everton set astronomical fee for Leipzig target Lookman

Everton have set Ademola Lookman’s price at £28million plus add-ons as RB Leipzig continue to chase the winger.

Lookman joined Everton in January 2017 for £7.5m, having impressed in the Championship and League One with Charlton.

The 20-year-old has found it difficult to establish himself in the first team at Goodison Park however, playing just eight times under Ronald Koeman in 2016/17, then 16 times – seven in the Premier League – the following season under Koeman, David Unsworth and Sam Allardyce.

Lookman joined Leipzig on loan in January and impressed enough for the Bundesliga side to explore signing him permanently.

Sky Sports report that Everton have rebuffed an initial £22m offer, with new manager Marco Silva eager to work with the player instead.

It is added that Everton ‘are demanding £28m plus add-ons’ for Lookman, who has played just 26 career games of top-flight football.

Lookman was left out of the Everton squad for the club’s opening draw with Wolves, but was an unused substitute for the win over Southampton. So he’s making progress.
