New Arsenal boss Unai Emery has been urged to sign Sweden international Emil Forsberg by former Arsenal winger Anders Limpar.

The RB Leipzig midfielder scored four goals and provided four assists in 33 matches in all competitions last campaign.

Unai Emery took over as Gunners head coach recently following Arsene Wenger’s departure, with Sven Mislintat and Raul Sanllehi taking charge of recruitment.

And Limpar, who made 96 appearances for Arsenal, thinks his compatriot would make a brilliant signing for the club.

“If we get Emil Forsberg, we will be so lucky,” said Limpar said.

“He’s the biggest prospect we have in Europe. He has been really good in the Bundesliga and has been outstanding for the national side.

“If we get him, we would get a hell of a player who could produce points with assists and goals.

“Please God, we should sign him straight away – if we can.

“Emil would fit right in at Arsenal. He is so mobile, he can pass the ball and put assists up. He is one of the better players I have seen here in Sweden in many years, if you take Zlatan [Ibrahimovic] away. He is a really good prospect.”
